Evangelical Church Winning All. Maryland USA

Who We Are

ECWA Maryland is a vibrant, diverse, and growing congregation located at 5526 Marlboro Pike, District Heights, Maryland. More than a place of worship, the church serves as a spiritual home, a center for fellowship, and a beacon of hope within the community. Rooted in the inspired and infallible Word of God. We are committed to biblical teaching, evangelism, discipleship, heartfelt worship, and community outreach. Through its Care Ministry and partnerships with organizations such as Project Bridges and the Capital Area Food Bank, the church supports families by providing essential household items, food, school supplies, and other resources. As a welcoming, family-oriented congregation serving people from diverse backgrounds, including the African diaspora, we embrace a holistic ministry that nurtures spiritual growth and meets practical needs, guided by our Mission.

Our Heritage: From SIM to ECWA.

The Evangelical Church Winning All (ECWA) traces its roots to the Sudan Interior Mission (SIM), founded in 1893 by three pioneering missionaries, Walter Gowans, Rowland Bingham, and Thomas Kent, who were committed to spreading the gospel of Jesus Christ across Africa. Through their sacrificial missionary efforts, churches, schools, and hospitals were established, transforming lives and communities, particularly in Nigeria. This missionary work led to the establishment of the Evangelical Church of West Africa (ECWA) in 1954, which later became known as the Evangelical Church Winning All, reflecting its expanding global mission. Today, ECWA continues this rich legacy of evangelism, discipleship, biblical teaching, and compassionate service, proclaiming the love of Christ and winning souls for God’s Kingdom.
